New independent family vet practice in Yeovil

Tom and Sonia are bringing an independent, family-owned practice back to their home town. We start with home visits, and our new surgery opens in spring 2027.

At Silvester Vets we provide first opinion veterinary care to companion animals across Yeovil and the surrounding areas.

As a proudly independent practice, we aim to be fair, competitive and transparent in our pricing, providing professional and honest advice whilst adhering to our own high standards and best practice.

Tom and Sonia

Tom and Sonia qualified in 2007 and met while serving in the Royal Army Veterinary Corps. In 2016 they opened their own practice in Amesbury, Wiltshire. Yeovil is home, though. They live here with their three children, and wanted the town to have a family-owned vets again.

Tom

Qualified at Cambridge and travelled the world with the Royal Army Veterinary Corps. Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice and a diploma in Veterinary Business Management.

Sonia

Qualified at the Royal Veterinary College and was Veterinary Officer for the working dogs in Afghanistan. Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice, with a particular interest in surgery.

We can usually find you an appointment within 48 hours. We also keep a few slots free each weekday for urgent cases and end-of-life care, so ring us if you need a same-day visit.

We confirm a one-hour window
Once you’ve booked, we’ll be in touch with a one-hour slot for the visit.
We let you know we’re on the way
You’ll get a closer time as we set off. Please tell us beforehand about any parking or access restrictions.
